Dataciders Social Day 2024: Achieving more together

A day dedicated to commitment
The motto of the first Dataciders Social Day was "Achieving more together". Numerous employees swapped their computers and desks for paintbrushes, hammers, saws and shovels for half a day to help the socially disadvantaged. The aim of this day was to give something back not only to their own company, but also to society.
One day together for one big goal
This autumn, Dataciders decided to organize a joint social team day instead of many smaller team days. This gave all employees the opportunity to get socially involved and, above all, to do something good for children. The location: Gut Königsmühle, a place for families run by the help and hope foundation in Dortmund. Here, children can experience nature, community and support without a care in the world. The foundation is also committed to equal opportunities for all young people - a vision that Dataciders would also like to support.
Diverse tasks - working hand in hand
The Dataciders employees were divided into nine teams to work on different projects. The agenda included tasks such as renewing a tactile path, painting the playgrounds, pruning bushes and building a compost toilet. The autumnal weather did nothing to dampen the good mood. Everyone lent a hand and made visible improvements to Gut Königsmühle.
Corporate volunteering: more than just helping
The Social Day was not only an opportunity to do something good, but also to broaden one's own horizons. "We want to give our employees a change of perspective," explained Fabian Garcia from the People & Culture team. "There's no harm in leaving your comfort zone and swapping your familiar working environment for something new." Employees from all departments - from working students to management - joined forces.
Success all along the line
At the end of the day, the helpers were exhausted but very happy. The event had not only produced visible successes at Gut Königsmühle, but also strengthened the sense of community within the Dataciders workforce. There was a consensus that such a day of action could take place twice a year.
Dataciders Social Day 2024 was a complete success - for the employees, the company and, above all, for the children and families who benefit from the improvements at Gut Königsmühle.
