Dataciders Joins the BDSV: Data & AI Expertise for the Security and Defense Industries

Company news

July 15, 2026

Dortmund, July 15 July 2026 Since early July 2026, Dataciders has been a member of the Federal Association of the German Security and Defense Industry (BDSV). With this move, the market leader in data and AI in Germany underscores its commitment to the defense industry and strengthens its role as an end-to-end partner for data-driven transformation in the industry.

Data Intelligence as a Factor in Operational Readiness and Competitiveness

Geopolitical uncertainties, material shortages, and technological disruption pose profound challenges to the security and defense industry. Data-driven decisions, AI-powered analytics, and resilient supply chains are becoming critical factors for operational readiness and security. Through its BDSV membership, Dataciders is positioning itself as an active member of this industry community and contributing its expertise to professional dialogue with policymakers, the armed forces, and industry.

“In the defense industry, supply security is directly linked to operational readiness, and critical bottlenecks often only become apparent once the supply chain has already stalled,” says Jörg Lüddemann, Executive Director of Industrial AI at Dataciders. “This is exactly where we come in, with digital twins and preventive risk management, to ensure that supply chains remain resilient. We want to bring this industrial implementation expertise to the BDSV.”

Three Key Areas: From Strategy to Day-to-Day Operations

Dataciders supports companies in the defense industry from concept through to operational phase, with a clear focus on three areas. In supply chain management (SCM), digital twins, data analytics, and scenario analysis ensure resilient supply chains and guarantee material availability even under dynamic conditions. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) provide transparent control across products, projects, and programs. This is complemented by AI-powered decision support featuring Explainable AI and Human-in-the-Loop, which enables traceable and auditable decisions in complex operational scenarios.

“AI will only realize its full value in the defense industry if its decisions remain transparent and auditable in critical situations,” says Christopher Klewes, Lead Defense Initiative at Dataciders. “That’s exactly what we’re working on—with Explainable AI and Human-in-the-Loop. We want to further develop this approach within the BDSV in collaboration with the industry.”

A dedicated Defense team with proven industry expertise supports clients from strategy through to operations. More than half of Germany’s top 50 companies already rely on Dataciders’ expertise in the field of data and AI.
