APEX lectures with depth and practical relevance
Our lecture series offers in-depth insights into key topics relating to Oracle APEX and modern database solutions. Whether it's about accessible web applications, connecting external databases or the audit-proof historization of data - our experts show practical ways to effectively solve current challenges with APEX.
You can look forward to compact sessions with concrete application examples, technical tips and strategic recommendations - ideal for developers, architects and decision-makers who want to use APEX in a future-proof and professional manner.
17:10 - 18:00
Using a non-Oracle database as a persistence layer in APEX using the example of PostgreSql

Jan Gorkow
Dataciders SD&C GmbH
By using Oracle Heterogeneous Services, external databases such as PostgreSQL can be seamlessly integrated into Oracle APEX. This allows APEX to be used as a license-free front end for large amounts of data without being limited by the restrictions of the Oracle XE or FREE edition. The presentation uses a practical example to demonstrate the setup and use of such a distributed system architecture.
18:00 - 18:50
Accessibility in APEX

Janek Schweda
Dataciders SD&C GmbH
Accessibility is now a central component of modern web applications - not least due to the Barrier-Free Strengthening Act (BFSG), which will take effect from 2025. The presentation will shed light on the extent to which Oracle APEX meets the requirements for accessible design, the challenges that can arise and how accessible APEX applications can be implemented in practice. In addition to basic concepts, concrete solutions and typical pitfalls will be presented.
19:20 - 20:10
Concepts for the historization of data changes

Jan Gorkow
Dataciders SD&C GmbH
The historization of data changes is essential in many APEX and database projects - especially in regulated areas where traceability is required by law. The presentation presents various implementation approaches, including the Oracle Flashback Data Archive, inline models and separate historization tables, and uses demos to show when which approach makes sense. Performance aspects when storing and using historical data will also be highlighted.
