InMediasP as industry partner in the HTW Berlin study project (HTW Summer School February 6-24, 2023 at UTS Sydney-Australia & July 7-28, 2023 at HTW Berlin)
In the current course "Digital Twin as a Key Component in Intelligent Environments", the project team of engineering and IT students from HTW Berlin and UTS Sydney will meet for three weeks in the final sprint at the Summer School in Berlin.
The students' task is to create a platform-neutral IT solution that maps the various phases in the product life of a battery cell. Each individual battery cell is represented virtually with its current status as a digital product passport (DPP) across the product life cycle and the supply chain. As an industry partner, we accompany the students and support them with our expertise. The aim is to comply with future regulations and make the transition from combustion vehicles to electric cars sustainable. This requires a digital twin that contains information on every battery cell - from material procurement and battery production through to end-of-life processes.
Together with the students, we have looked at the topic of the DPP and will be working out the challenges and opportunities of introducing the Digital Product Passport in the coming weeks.
